Rothschild Boulevard and the White City

Ficus shade, cyclists and some of the world's finest Bauhaus buildings — a boulevard that explains Tel Aviv.

Tree-lined Rothschild Boulevard with white Bauhaus buildings, Tel Aviv

In 2003, UNESCO listed Tel Aviv's White City as a World Heritage Site: thousands of buildings designed in the 1930s by architects trained in Europe, many at the Bauhaus, and adapted to the Mediterranean light.

What to look for

Rounded balconies, long horizontal 'thermometer' windows on the stairwells, buildings raised on pilotis to let the sea breeze through. Once you notice them, you see them everywhere.

Many of the apartments we care for sit in buildings like these. Respecting their character — light, proportions, original details — is part of how we look after them.
